By attending the DFW Fashion Industry Social Media Workshop you will learn how to utilize the correct platforms to grow your business. From harnessing the powers of analytics to creating a unique voice, this workshop will update you on the best social media practices for your brand. We will also host a special panel event, featuring the best in Denver’s fashion industry.

MODERATOR: Brandi Shigley is the founder of Fashion Denver, an organization that connects our local fashion community through business development, fashion events, and fashion camp for kids. Shigley is a Denver native and has been working in the fashion community in Denver since 1999, as a designer, a boutique owner (from 2008-2012) and consultant and emcee. When she’s not playing in the fashion world, you can find her on her roller-skates, dancing or adventuring somewhere in the world.

Brittany Werges is the Editor-in-Chief of 303 MagazineA Colorado native, she is a writer and photographer that found her niche at 303 when she started working at the magazine as an intern in 2012. Since she has worked her way through the local media landscape by holding every position at the publication — including founding and fostering 303 Magazine‘s social media presence. During her three year tenure as the social media manager for the magazine, she grew the publication’s social following by 550 percent and continues to help craft the publications voice and online presence as Editor-in-Chief.

Blake Jackson (or @jake_blackson as he’s known on Instagram) is a self-taught photographer based in Denver, Colorado. Specializing in moody portraiture, captivating concert photography and surreal urban captures, Blake’s cinematic style stems from his obsession with movies.  In the short time he’s been in the industry, he has garnered praise from local & national publications; has partnered with massive international brands such as Budweiser & Uniqlo, & has photographed acclaimed musicians such as Chance the Rapper, Big K.R.I.T., Bassnectar, RL Grime, Tory Lanez, Party Next Door and Rae Sremmurd.

Judith Boyd is a blogger, writer, millinery curator, speaker and model.  She spent most of her career working as a Master’s level psychiatric nurse, finding ways to reveal herself through style. She always chose a hat to accompany her outfits, expressing herself creatively in an environment which often included painful and powerful stories. Having a passion for headwear, she co-owned a hat shop in the 1980s. In the ’90s and beyond she sold vintage in an antique mall and on consignment in a vintage store.  Over seven years ago she launched Style Crone, a blog birthed through the ashes of the death of my husband Nelson, dedicated to the older woman in her most creative, outrageous, powerful, and proud era. She also maintains an Instagram presence as Style Crone with over 33,000 followers. At the age of 75, she is honored to be involved in the Advanced Style Movement, created by Ari Seth Cohen, which exists to change the perception of older people in our culture.  She is also the Millinery Curator for the website HipSilver, which serves the “Silver Generation.”  She feels it is a privilege to explore the journey of aging, while celebrating style, headwear and her devotion to yoga.
Abby Miller is the founder and content creator of lifestyle and fashion blog, Denver Darling. Abby started Denver Darling three years ago as a go-to girls guide to life and style in the Mile High City and has since built it into a brand that Denver locals and visitors look to for style inspiration. She recently launched a brick and mortar and online boutique with the same name with co-owner Molly Fortune. Abby has partnered with several notable companies since starting her blog including, Capital One, American Express, Talbots, DSW, Coca-Cola, H&M, J.Mclaughlin, Target, BMW, and multiple travel partners including Four Seasons, Secrets Resorts, and tourism boards like Experience Scottsdale and Visit Park City.

Gabriel “Cisco” Medina, is a Colorado native who received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado. He studied Fashion at the Art Institute of Colorado before launching his company YOCISCO, a men’s underwear brand. Launching the brand in the summer of 2013, Gabriel has used social media to leverage his presence in the market. With an active following of over 50,000 followers,YOCISCO has created awareness and fostered relationships not only to enhance their direct to consumer sales but B2B sales as well. YOCISCO is currently being sold in 16 specialty boutiques throughout the United States, as well as having distribution set up in the United Kingdom and Japan.While managing the growth of his brand, Gabriel also serves as co-chair of Fashion Group International Denver.

Kelsey Bigelow is the co-founder, co-owner and Creator of Opportunities of Denver Style Magazine, Denver’s fashion, style and beauty resource. Denver Style Magazine’s print and digital magazine features local boutiques, designers, stylish resources and street style influencers. Kelsey has been a featured social media and storytelling expert at many local events and on multiple businesses and fashion blogs. Kelsey describes herself as a curious creative, always looking for the story and purpose behind a brand. She believes in unapologetically, enthusiastically, passionately following your dreams. In her free time, Kelsey can be found on the agility field with her dogs.


Designers workshops – Wednesday, March 21, 6-8 p.m.

We will host expert panels as well as a Q&A with celebrity fashion designer, Stevie Boi of NYC. Stevie will discuss his book “Shade Built My Empire”, and how to protect your brand with panel discussion from US Patent Office.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Rocky Mountain Regional Director, Molly Kocialski, will be leading a conversation with a local fashion designer and a local intellectual property attorney about how to use intellectual property (IP) with fashion. Attendees will learn how to leverage copyrights, trademarks, trade dress, patents and trade secrets to help protect their brands, and how to protect and enforce IP rights in their designs. Panelists include:
